Rewriting My Inner Script
I went through something similar after switching careers — like, completely starting over in my 30s. Everyone around me seemed to have it all figured out, and I felt like I was rebuilding from scratch with no map. I kept jumping between feeling motivated and totally lost. What helped me ground myself was honestly stumbling across the liven app during one of those late-night Google spirals. I wasn’t expecting much — most mental health apps felt like fluff to me — but this one was surprisingly down-to-earth. What stood out is that it helped me identify what was actually important to me, not what I thought should be important. One of the tools walked me through how I respond when I feel like I’m failing, and it was wild how much of it traced back to stuff I’d never unpacked. It also helped me stop defaulting to saying “yes” when I meant “no,” which honestly changed how I handle relationships and even work boundaries. The thing is, it doesn’t try to be some magical fix. It kind of feels like having a smart, steady coach who doesn’t push, just nudges. I check in with it almost every day now — not out of obligation, but because it gives me a space to slow down and check in with myself without judgment.

There’s something both exciting and terrifying about realizing you might have to rethink parts of your identity just to feel more like yourself again. Like, what if the version of you that emerges isn’t the one people are used to? Makes you think twice before you start digging.
